When We Ignore the Little Things

I had been walking with my dog, Koda and I felt something in my shoe. It was annoying and a bit distracting, but we kept on walking.

When I got home, I took off my shoes and forgot about it.

The next time we went walking, I felt it again. We walked a little ways and I got him to stop. I took off my shoe, shook it out and put it back on to keep walking.

After a few times shaking out my shoe and it still being there, I decided to examine my shoe closer.

It was then that I realized it wasn’t a stone at all, it was a rusty tack! For nearly 2 weeks I had been stepping on a rusty tack. Certainly not the safest thing to be doing! All because I didn’t want to take the time to slow down and examine my issue closer, sooner.

I took out the tack and threw it in the garbage so it would not become someone else’s problem!
