Connecting to Your Breath and Self Care

I shared this with someone today and realized more people would likely benefit from these reminders as well. I hope this helps you to navigate the feelings coming up during this time. Please reach out if you need support

Often we dont realize we are holding our breath but deep belly breaths, expanding our belly on the breath in, and letting it FULLY deflate on the breath out can really help ground us right now

Set an alarm on your phone to stop and breathe every 2 hours minimum throughout the day. It is not enough right now to only do something in the morning.

If you breathe in for a count of three, pause and hold it, and breathe out for a count of 6 (or 4 and 8, 5 and 10, etc) it is proven to reset your nervous system, do that 3x for maximum benefit

Connecting to our breath and becoming present in our bodies again, focusing on this moment right here, where we are safe and okay, is one of the greatest gifts we can give our mental health
